A grand orchestral spectacle featuring the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in full force, including the iconic Wurlitzer organ at the Orpheum.

Bruce Liu is celebrated globally for his expressive artistry and "elf-like virtuosity" (Diapason). Acclaimed by media such as The Financial Times, Le Monde, and Stir, Liu brings his captivating musical presence to Prokofiev's sparkling and rhythmically complex Piano Concerto No. 3.
The second half of the program presents Richard Strauss’s An Alpine Symphony, a sweeping, cinematic narrative that traces a climber’s ascent and descent of a mountain, using massive orchestral forces in one of the most spectacular tone poems ever composed.
