Event Overview
The 33rd Annual Gingerbread Lane 2025 returns to the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, transforming its grand lobby into a festive wonderland of creativity, community spirit, and compassion. Recognized as Canada’s longest-running gingerbread charity event, this beloved holiday tradition showcases intricate gingerbread house creations while raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, helping grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Since its inception, Gingerbread Lane has brought together professional pastry chefs, culinary students, local businesses, schools, and community groups to celebrate the art of gingerbread architecture—all for a meaningful cause. Visitors can enjoy the magical display from November 27 to December 28, with free admission and opportunities to donate directly to support Make-A-Wish Canada.
Contest & Participation
Show off your baking creativity and holiday spirit by entering the Gingerbread House Contest. Participants from across Metro Vancouver are invited to design and construct unique edible masterpieces to be displayed in the hotel lobby throughout the holiday season.
Four Contest Categories

Professional: Open to bakeries, culinary schools, and professional pastry chefs

Amateur: Open to home bakers and baking enthusiasts

School: Open to high schools in the Lower Mainland

Corporate: Open to companies, community organizations, and corporate teams
Each category will be judged based on creativity, craftsmanship, and overall presentation.
Contest Timeline
Step 1 – Create Your Gingerbread House:
Submit your design and prepare your creation before November 23, 2025.
Step 2 – Set-Up:
Bring your gingerbread house to the Hyatt Regency for setup on November 23 or 24 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Step 3 – Photography & Judging:
Judging and photography will take place on November 25–26.
Step 4 – Opening Reception:
Join the opening night celebration on November 26 at 5:30 PM to officially launch the display.
Step 5 – Public Viewing:
The Gingerbread Lane exhibit will be open to the public from November 27 to December 28, 2025.
Community Impact
Every donation collected during Gingerbread Lane supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation Canada, helping grant life-changing wishes to children battling critical illnesses. Research shows that granting wishes helps children build emotional resilience and strength during their treatment journey. The event continues to bring hope and joy to families across Canada.
