Flats Fest 2025 returns on Saturday, September 6, transforming Vancouver’s South Flats neighbourhood into a hub of music, food, innovation, and family-friendly fun. Running from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, this free festival offers something for everyone—whether you’re here for the live music, interactive kids’ activities, food trucks, artisan shopping, or cutting-edge innovation showcases.

Festival Zones & Highlights

🎶 Main Stage – Live Music All Afternoon

Get ready for an unforgettable lineup of local talent:

• Kutapira – Afro-Latin percussion & high-energy rhythms

• Souls in Rhythm – Funk & soul vibes

• Tiffany Rivera – Powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence

• Surf Hat – Indie groove at 7:00 PM

• Yukon Blonde – Headlining at 8:00 PM with their signature indie-rock sound

Time: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

🎤 Acoustic & DJ Stages

• Acoustic Stage (12:00 – 5:40 PM): Local performers share intimate sets throughout the afternoon.

• DJ Stage (4:00 – 6:00 PM): Dance to upbeat sets from Vancouver DJs.

🧒 Kids’ Zone

Families can enjoy an afternoon packed with free entertainment and activities:

• Bouncy castle, climbing wall, craft stations, glitter tattoos & balloon animals

• Live entertainment: Tinkerbell singalong, BattleZone Canada dance battle, Andy the Musical Scientist, and a special set from Will’s Jams

• Free cotton candy and Rain or Shine ice cream while supplies last

💡 Innovation Zone

Explore the future at the Innovation Zone, featuring:

• Virtual reality experiences and new games from Buffalo Buffalo

• Activations from the Centre for Digital Media, Vancouver Community College, Ethos Lab, and LDS (Learn. Develop. Succeed.)

• Interactive showcases highlighting creativity, tech, and education

🛍 Artisan Market & Student Marketplace

• Artisan Market (12:00 – 6:00 PM): Shop ceramics, jewelry, home products, and local art.

• Student Marketplace (12:00 – 6:00 PM): Artwork and handmade goods from Emily Carr University and Centre for Digital Media students.

🍔 Food Trucks & Coffee

Savour delicious bites from Vancouver’s favourite food trucks:

• REEL Mac and Cheese

• Planted Love

🍻 Beer Garden

Thanks to a site-wide license, enjoy refreshing local drinks including craft beers from Strathcona Beer. A portion of proceeds supports the Food Stash Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to reducing food waste and improving food security.

Practical Information

• Parking: Limited free parking at 565 Great Northern Way. Guests are encouraged to take public transit, bike, scooter, or rideshare. A free bike valet will be available at Carolina Street.

• Pets: Friendly, leashed pets are welcome.

• Safety: Organizers are working with the City of Vancouver to meet all 2025 public safety standards.

• Closing Times: Kids’ Zone & Innovation Zone close at 5:00 PM; Artisan Market & Community Zone close at 6:00 PM; food trucks, beer garden, and live music continue until 9:00 PM.
