Celebrate Tradition, Community, and Family Fun in Port Coquitlam!

Join thousands of spectators as Port Coquitlam’s beloved Rotary May Day Parade returns for its 2025 edition on Saturday, May 10, bringing colourful floats, marching bands, performers, local organizations, and school groups to the heart of the city. This free community event is one of the Tri-Cities’ oldest and most cherished traditions—celebrating over 100 years of history.

The May Day Parade begins at 11:00 AM, winding through downtown Port Coquitlam, offering vibrant performances and local pride in every step. Families, residents, and visitors alike are invited to line the streets, cheer on the participants, and celebrate the spirit of community.

🚦 Road Closures & Shuttle Info

To ensure pedestrian safety and the smooth flow of the event, road closures will be in effect on May 10 from 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Streets impacted include:

• Shaughnessy Street

• Elgin Avenue

• McAllister Avenue

• Donald Street

• Wilson Avenue

• Mary Hill Road

Free round-trip shuttle services will be available from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, departing approximately every 30 minutes from:

• Minnekhada Middle School

• James Park Elementary

• Mary Hill Elementary

• Castle Park Elementary

An accessible shuttle bus will also be in operation from both north and south side pickup points to accommodate all guests.

The weekend celebrations continue on Sunday, May 11 from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM with the Party in the Square at Terry Fox Hometown Square and the surrounding area of the Port Coquitlam Community Centre and Kelly Avenue.
