Supporting Accessibility in Surrey Since 2019
Since 2019, the Museum of Surrey has partnered with organizations such as the Canucks Autism Network to provide sensory-friendly events and accommodations for the community. With monthly sensory-friendly hours, complimentary noise-cancelling headphones, and a permanent sensory room, the Museum continues to be a leader in accessibility and inclusive programming in Metro Vancouver.
Museum Manager Lynn Saffery explains,
“We believe that everyone in Surrey and beyond should be able to access museum programs and events. This means that we will continue to be free of charge, provide accessibility opportunities, and ensure everyone is welcome.”
