Event Overview

The 15th Annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market, presented by Concord Pacific, returns to Surrey Civic Plaza for a spectacular two-day celebration filled with holiday spirit, community joy, and festive entertainment.

This year’s festival introduces Surrey’s first-ever free outdoor ice skating rink, open to everyone throughout the weekend. Bring your own skates and helmets, or rent them on-site, and glide across the 4,000-square-foot rink surrounded by twinkling lights and music.

Experience five stages of live entertainment, a bustling Holiday Market, free amusement rides, light displays, craft stations, letters to Santa, food trucks, and free photos with Santa. The highlight of the weekend will be the lighting of Surrey’s 60-foot Christmas tree on Saturday, November 22 at 6:30 PM.

Event Highlights

🎄 60-Foot Christmas Tree Lighting

Watch as the City of Surrey lights up its 60-foot Christmas tree adorned with ornaments and glowing lights during the official lighting ceremony on Saturday at 6:30 PM, followed by the Surrey Shines Bright Show and a mesmerizing fire performance on Sunday evening.

⛸️ Free Outdoor Ice Skating

Enjoy free ice skating all weekend long inside the Holiday Market & Rink Tent.

• Free for those bringing their own skates and helmets
• Rentals available on-site (limited capacity per session)

🎅 Photos with Santa

Capture the magic with free photos with Santa on both days from 12 PM to 8 PM. Online reservations open in early November, with limited walk-up availability.

🛍️ Holiday Market

Shop unique, locally made gifts from artisans and crafters across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
Vendors include Pacha Ancestral Design, YVR Cookie, Moonlight Wolf Jewelry, and more.

🎠 Free Amusement Rides

Enjoy family-friendly rides, including the Ferris Wheel, sponsored by Dawson + Sawyer, and other attractions perfect for kids and parents alike.

🎵 Live Entertainment Across Five Stages

Experience performances from local choirs, musicians, and dance groups throughout the day.

The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival & Holiday Market is the largest free holiday event in Western Canada, bringing the community together to celebrate the season with light, laughter, and local talent. Since its inception, it has won multiple awards, including:

• ILEA Vancouver Chapter’s Best Public Event (2024)

This year’s event continues the tradition of celebrating inclusivity, creativity, and connection in the heart of Surrey.
