Event Overview:

The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO), is thrilled to announce the return of Symphony at Sunset. This free open-air concert will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Sunset Beach Park. Enjoy a magical evening of music featuring recognizable scores from hit films and classical favorites.

Concert Highlights:

Conducted by the VSO's Music Director, Otto Tausk, this year's sunset performance will feature:

• An orchestral arrangement of the Coast Salish Anthem
• Music from hit films like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and E.T.
• A selection of classical favorites

Event Grounds:

• Open All Day: Picnic-goers are encouraged to set up early as space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
• Seating: Bring low chairs to avoid obstructing the view of other audience members.
• Food and Drinks: The Sunset Beach concession stand will be open, along with several food trucks available throughout the grounds.

By Transit:

• Bus: The 23 Beach bus takes you directly to the event site, starting from Main Street Skytrain station and passing through Stadium and Yaletown Skytrain stations. Other nearby routes include the Robson bus and Davie Street Bus.
• Translink Trip Planner: Use it to find the most efficient way to get to and from Sunset Beach Park.

By Bike:

• Bike Valet and Racks: Available for parking and locking your bike, but capacity is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

By Car:

• Parking: Limited in the area. Consider parking in Stanley Park and walking to the event site. Arrive early to find parking.

Road Closures:

• Thurlow St: Closed between Pacific and Beach from 4 PM to 10 PM.
• Beach Ave: Closed between Thurlow and Jervis from 7 PM to 11 PM.
• Bute St: Closed between Pacific and Beach from 7 PM to 11 PM.

Amenities and Services:

• Food and Beverages: Available from the Sunset Beach Concession and food trucks. Skip the concession line by ordering ahead at VanEats.
• Accessible Viewing Area: Located on the south side of the event grounds. For more information and amenities, visit the information booth on the southwest side of the event site.
