For over four decades, the Vancouver International Children’s Festival (VICF) has been captivating families with world-class performances and imaginative experiences created especially for young audiences. From May 26 to June 1, 2025, families are invited to Granville Island to experience one of the most cherished family events in Canada.

The 2025 edition offers a multi-sensory experience that brings together live theatre, music, dance, circus, acrobatics, storytelling, visual arts, and interactive installations—all created with kids in mind.

🔥 Won’Ma Africa (All Ages)

Thrilling acrobatics from Kalabanté Productions with live djembe rhythms from Guinea.

🎶 Kym Gouchie & Band (Ages 3–12)

An Indigenous musical journey celebrating culture, connection, and healing.

🌈 Luminarium (All Ages)

Circus artistry meets lighting illusions and juggling magic from Cause & Effect Circus.

🦬 Where Have All the Buffalo Gone? (Ages 9+)

A moving Métis story with dance, puppetry, and powerful storytelling that brings history to life.

🎤 I Wish I Was A Mountain (Ages 7+)

Philosophy meets performance in this poetic reimagining by slam champion Toby Thompson.

🌍 Liwanda Africa! (All Ages)

Music, storytelling, and dance from across the African continent – in French!

🌏 Sing the World! with Ginalina (Ages 0–9)

A global music adventure through folk songs, rhythm, and dance.

🌀 Club Origami (Ages 1–6)

An interactive paper-based dance experience where kids create their own world.

🎭 Same Same Different (All Ages)

Zany slapstick comedy from The Myrtle Sisters with a message about identity and belonging.

📚 The Libravian (Ages 7–11)

Whimsical physical theatre bringing books and imagination to life.

🎉 Variety Show (All Ages)

A high-energy evening featuring the Festival’s biggest acts all on one stage.

🍽️ Whipped Up! (Ages 0–2)

Babies take charge in this hilarious, interactive diner-themed performance.

🎨 Activity Village & Family Fun

In addition to scheduled shows, families can explore the Activity Village, filled with craft stations, storytelling tents, music workshops, circus zones, and drop-in art spaces. The festival makes it easy for families to spend a full day engaging together in creativity, play, and cultural discovery.
