Cranberry Plunge at Riverside Cranberry Farm in Langley

The Cranberry Plunge is a hands-on farm experience at Riverside Cranberry Farm: pull on a pair of farm waders and step into a flooded cranberry bog. You stand in a circle of floating fresh cranberries for a quintessential fall photo, an opportunity that lasts only a short window during the harvest. It is open to individuals and small groups of up to 10 adults and children over age 5.

What to Expect

Wade Into the Bog

Guests wear chest waders and step into a circle of floating cranberries. Water in the bog is typically around knee height.

Photo Opportunity

Bring your own camera or smartphone for photos. Staff are also on hand to take candid shots.

Supervised Activity

Staff supervision is required, and all children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not allowed in the plunge.

What to Wear

Dress for the weather and wear socks, with an extra pair recommended in case you get a bit wet. Allow 10–15 minutes in the dressing room for sizing and changing in and out of the waders. Outside waders are not permitted on the farm for sanitary reasons.

Dates & Booking

The plunge is open for bookings from September 30 to October 12 (closed Sundays, October 4 and 11), with limited availability during farm tour dates. Booking opened September 1, and tickets are available online until a few hours before each time slot, as long as the slot isn't fully booked. Gate tickets may be available if space permits. If you only want the plunge, book a plunge-only date and avoid the farm tour time slots.

Farm Harvest Tours

Harvest tours run on a limited number of dates around Thanksgiving weekend:

• Friday, October 9: afternoon tour
• Saturday, October 10: morning and afternoon tours
• Monday, October 12: morning and afternoon tours

The tour doesn't include the plunge. To do both, buy a tour slot first, then a separate plunge ticket for the same time slot. If you only want a tour, you can skip the plunge. The recommended visit time is about 1 to 1½ hours, and entry is only allowed during your booked time slot.

Farm Store

The seasonal farm store reopens September 14 and is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, during harvest season, including on plunge dates. Stop by for cranberry goodies.

Good to Know

• No pets are allowed on the farm, which is a Canada GAP certified food facility
• Children under 13 must be accompanied by a guardian over 18 and supervised at all times, especially around farm equipment and water
• Please stay home if you've been sick or had symptoms in the past week
• No smoking and no drones (the farm is within the Fort Langley airport flight path)
• Tours and plunges run in all weather, so dress appropriately
• Some food and drink will be available, and washrooms are on site
• Tickets are non-refundable, and rescheduling may involve service charges
