    The Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival returns to Deer Lake Park for another unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and community! Set in one of Burnaby’s most scenic outdoor venues, this free, family-friendly music festival features an eclectic lineup of legendary artists, rising stars, and diverse performers spanning blues, folk, soul, indie, and roots genres.

    From food trucks and a beer garden to a dedicated artisan market and free kids activities, the festival offers something for everyone. Make a day of it by exploring Burnaby Village Museum before the music kicks off!


    🎤 2025 Lineup & Set Times

    • Ani DiFranco – 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM
      Grammy-winning icon and trailblazer of the independent music movement, blending folk, punk, and soul with powerful lyricism.

    • Aysanabee – 7:15 PM – 8:15 PM
      JUNO-winning Oji-Cree artist fusing indie rock, soul, and electronic elements with deeply personal storytelling.

    • Judith Hill – 5:50 PM – 6:40 PM
      A soulful performer known for collaborations with Prince and Michael Jackson, and featured in the Oscar-winning 20 Feet from Stardom.

    • Jackson Hollow – 4:50 PM – 5:30 PM
      Award-winning BC bluegrass band with a timeless sound led by Tianna Lefebvre and Mike Sanyshyn.

    • RBCxMusic First Up Artist – 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM
      To be announced – A rising star on the Community Stage.


    🎪 Festival Features

    • Community Stage: Opening at 3:30 PM with emerging local talent

    • Food Trucks: Including Chickpea, Rocky Point Ice Cream, Twisted Potato, JJ's Hot Cob, Lemon Heaven, and more

    • Beer Garden: Serving local beer, cider, and wine

    • Artisan Market: Featuring ceramics, woodwork, jewellery, and crafts

    • Burnaby Village Museum: Pre-festival activities with live blues music from 12 PM – 3 PM

    • Free Bike Valet: Ride your bike and store it safely onsite

    • Lost & Found and First Aid stations available

    🚗 Parking & Road Closures

    • No public parking available onsite (SPARC pass holders only)

    • Deer Lake Ave (eastbound) closed after 2 PM; full closure at 9 PM

    • Highway 1 Kensington exit westbound closed – use Gaglardi or Willingdon exits

    🚍 Public Transit

    • Buses #110, #123, #133, and #144 stop nearby

    • Transit vehicles allowed access until 9 PM only

    • Use TransLink Trip Planner for directions

    🚲 Cycling

    • Bike-friendly routes include Central Valley Greenway & Deer Lake Trails

    • Free bike valet service available for bikes, scooters, strollers, and e-bikes
