Now in its 5th year, the Big Pirate Run brings a "sea of runners" to Garry Point Park for a themed run along the West Dyke and Middle Arm Trails. Suitable for all ages and abilities, including strollers and leashed dogs, the event offers distances from a 1–3km Little Pirate Run/Walk up to a full 21.1km half marathon, all run on minimal-incline, stable gravel trails.

Time Limits
Runners and walkers must complete their route within 2 hours 30 minutes, or 3 hours for the 21.1km half marathon.
Getting There
Garry Point Park is accessible by transit, bike, and walking trails. Bus 406 stops on Chatham St at Seventh Ave, and Bus 401 stops a short walk away at Chatham St and Fourth Ave — both connect from Canada Line's Richmond–Brighouse Station. Buses 402, 407, and 413 also serve the area (check TransLink for details). Parking at Garry Point Park is limited, with restricted street parking available nearby and in Steveston Village; carpooling is encouraged.
