Now in its 10th year, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra's free outdoor concert returns to Jack Poole Plaza for a family-friendly evening of live symphonic music against the backdrop of Vancouver's waterfront. Presented by PCI Developments and Ledcor Group, this year's program leans into film music, with a "Live Jurassic Park Performance" theme running through a lineup that spans John Williams, Ennio Morricone, and Tchaikovsky. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, and the plaza is easily reached by transit via Waterfront Station.

Intermission (20 minutes) — featuring a performance by Chibi Taiko, Canada's first children's taiko ensemble

About the Orchestra
Founded in 2002–2003 by Music Director Ken Hsieh, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra has grown from 16 musicians into one of BC's leading professional ensembles, now performing with up to 65 players across roughly 12 concerts a season. The concert is led by conductor Ken Hsieh, now in his 24th season as VMO's Music Director, with 16-year-old Coquitlam violinist Angela Li featured as soloist on Cinema Paradiso.
