Event Overview
Lights by the Lake returns to the Village of Harrison Hot Springs, transforming the lakeside promenade into a glowing winter display of festive lights, illuminated sculptures, and seasonal installations. Running from late November through mid-January, this free outdoor experience offers a relaxing, scenic holiday activity along the shores of Harrison Lake.
Visitors can stroll the waterfront walkway surrounded by themed light displays, winter window art, and decorations inspired by the natural landscape of the region. The combination of lakeside views, twinkling displays, and mountain backdrop makes Lights by the Lake one of the most picturesque holiday light events in British Columbia.

Lighting Ceremony – November 22, 2025
The season begins with a community lighting celebration featuring live performances, entertainment, and the official illumination of the waterfront displays.

Two additional holiday evenings add storytelling, music, and community programming to the lakeside experience.

Starlight Skating Rink
Opening November 8, 2025, the Starlight Skating Rink offers an outdoor skating experience beneath a canopy of lights. The rink uses a synthetic surface and is free to enjoy throughout the season. Guests may bring their own skates or rent a pair on select days from the concession.
Lighted Waterfront Walkway
The event’s main attraction features a lakeside path lined with glowing displays stretching from St. Alice Street to the Public Boat Launch Area. The walkway is paved, flat, and wheelchair-friendly, making it accessible for visitors of all ages.
Seasonal Entertainment
Live music, carolling groups, dance performances, and community programs take place on select evenings throughout the event period. Entertainment schedules are available on the event website.

Plan Your Visit
Lights by the Lake runs seven days a week, with displays illuminated daily from dusk until 11:00 pm.
Visitors are encouraged to dress warmly, arrive early on event nights, and follow the signed route for smooth walkway flow.
Parking: Free parking is available in the Village of Harrison Hot Springs from September 15 to May 15. Additional parking for larger vehicles can be found at Hot Springs Road and Miami River Drive.
Washrooms: Public washrooms are available at the Boat Launch Parking Lot and the Civic Centre Plaza.
Civic Centre washrooms remain open until 8:00 pm during special event nights.
Dog Policy: Dogs on leash are welcome along the walkway.
