CUPE 23 – Burnaby Civic Employees Union sponsors Labour Day at Burnaby Village Museum, marking the end of summer with a free day of carousel rides, labour history, and hands-on activities. The day covers 100+ years of labour movement history in British Columbia and CUPE's history with the City of Burnaby, alongside a themed scavenger hunt, live music, demonstrations, and special displays.
Scheduled Activities
Free Carousel Rides
Sponsored by CUPE 23, complimentary carousel rides run all day, with the last ride at 4:15 PM. Location: Carousel (9).
Labour Scavenger Hunt
Match village exhibits with union logos to earn a prize at the CUPE Local 23 info tent. Pick up a scavenger hunt sheet at any gate. Runs all day.
A Century of Service
A display marking 100 years of the Burnaby Civic Employees Union. Location: Across from the Church (30).
Working People
A film screening about British Columbia's working people. Location: Central Park Theatre (17).
delecTABLE: Burnaby Food Journeys
An exhibit exploring how Burnaby's food culture has evolved over time. Location: The Stride Studios (13).

- POP Indigenous games and activities — Indigenous Learning House (24)
- "What Are You Bringing to the Picnic?" Community Mural Project — Carousel Plaza (8): draw and colour food art to add to a community picnic table mural
- Many Voices Project — Multi-purpose room (20): share and help document underrepresented community stories, especially from those who've worked in Burnaby's waterfront industries
Burnaby Fire Department's antique fire truck display runs 11 AM–noon at Seaforth School (28).
Live Performances at Vorce Tram Station (6)
- The Boytles (Beatles cover band): 11:30 AM–12:15 PM & 3:00–3:45 PM
- Taka Lee (live music with songs and stories): 1:00–1:40 PM
- Solidarity Notes Choir (traditional labour songs): 2:15–2:45 PM
