Cirque du Soleil LUZIA in Vancouver 2026
Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA returns to Vancouver for a long run under the Big Top at Concord Pacific Place. Poetically guided by light (luz in Spanish) and rain (lluvia), LUZIA chronicles the encounters of a parachuted traveller with the culture, nature, and mythology of a dreamlike land inhabited by a mystifying menagerie of characters. It’s a surreal escape to an imaginary Mexico, a vibrant world suspended between dreams and reality, and it weaves water into the acrobatic presentation, a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production. The show is open to all ages and runs 125 minutes, including a 25-minute intermission. Vancouver’s run was extended with 35 additional performances after strong demand.

A Waking Dream of Mexico
As the sun rises, a running woman awakens an imaginary Mexico, honouring the monarch butterfly’s migration. In a series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, LUZIA takes audiences on a surreal escape to a world suspended between dreams and reality. It passes smoothly from an old movie set to the ocean, a smoky dance hall, and an arid desert, travelling through a colourful tapestry of places, faces, and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity. The result is refreshing and unexpected.
What Makes LUZIA Special
Water on Stage
LUZIA enchants by artistically incorporating rain and water into the acrobatic presentation, a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production. Its set combines water elements with mechanical and hydraulic ones, a major design and fabrication challenge for the creative team.
Breathtaking Acrobatics
Expect death-defying stunts and artists in hummingbird costumes, complete with wings and long beaks, performing among the show’s dreamlike scenes.
A Mystifying Menagerie
The parachuted traveller meets a cast of characters inspired by Mexican culture, nature, and mythology, each adding to the show’s sense of a waking dream.
A Return to Vancouver
LUZIA was last in Vancouver in 2019. It has toured since 2016 and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
Created By
LUZIA is written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, with Brigitte Poupart, and is presented by Cirque du Soleil under its signature Big Top.
