    Event Overview:
    The 2024 Grey Cup Festival marks the return of Canada’s largest annual sporting event to Vancouver for the first time since 2014. Hosted by the BC Lions, this year’s event promises an unforgettable experience for fans across the nation. Over 500,000 attendees are expected to join the week-long festival, featuring exciting activities such as ziplines, immersive football experiences, legendary parties, cultural showcases, and electrifying performances. With even more thrilling attractions yet to be announced, the 2024 Grey Cup Festival will be a celebration of sports, culture, and community.

    Key Highlights:

    • Twisted Tea Grey Cup Halftime Show: Enjoy a live performance by the Jonas Brothers, bringing their high-energy show to the 111th Grey Cup Halftime stage.
    • SiriusXM Kickoff Show: Rising country star Owen Riegling will perform live on November 17, 2024.
    • Fan Attractions: Including two exhilarating ziplines, immersive football-themed activities, and cultural displays.
    • Food and Entertainment: Vancouver’s diverse food trucks and entertainment hubs will offer a variety of local and international flavours.

    Getting There

    • By Foot: Conveniently located at 777 Pacific Blvd, easily accessible on foot from downtown Vancouver.
    • SkyTrain: Exit at Stadium/Chinatown Station or Yaletown/Roundhouse Station for a short walk to BC Place.
    • Bus: Downtown Vancouver’s #15 and #17 buses offer convenient drop-off services.
    • Parking: Paid street parking and local lots are available; pre-download the Pay By Phone app for easy access.
    • Rideshare/Taxi: Designated drop-off zones will be available closer to the event start date.
    • Bicycle/Scooter: Complimentary Bike Valet parking is available outside Gate E of BC Place.

    About BC Place

    BC Place has been Vancouver’s iconic stadium since 1983. Renovated in 2011, it now features a retractable roof, making it a world-class open-air venue and home to the BC Lions. Since opening, it has hosted the Grey Cup multiple times, including the 99th Grey Cup in 2011, where the BC Lions won on their home field.


    Free Zipline Experiences at the 2024 Grey Cup Festival – RBC Harbour Zipline & Carstar Street Zipline

    Zipline Details:
    Fans can enjoy two thrilling, free zipline rides as part of the Grey Cup Festival. Choose between the RBC Harbour Zipline soaring over the water and the Carstar Street Zipline along Canada Place Way. These limited-time attractions provide unique views of Vancouver’s waterfront, making them a must-do for festival attendees.

    Zipline Registration & Queueing

    • Registration Location: Outside the Vancouver Convention Centre East, near Canada Place Way.
    • Registration Process: First come, first served. Riders select either the RBC Harbour Zipline or Carstar Street Zipline during registration and complete a zipline waiver. The process includes a safety briefing and outfitting with safety gear.
    • Queue Details: Begins at the launch tower base by the VCC East seawall and extends as needed towards the RBC Harbour Zipline landing tower. Estimated wait times will be posted along the queue.

    Hours of Operation:

    • November 13: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm (last registration at 7:30 pm)
    • November 14, 15, 16: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm (last registration at 8:30 pm)

    Rider Requirements & Safety

    • Weight Requirements: Riders must weigh between 75 lbs and 275 lbs
    • Height Requirements: None, as long as the weight criteria are met
    • Safety Gear: All riders will be outfitted with safety gear, checked by ZipTrek staff prior to the ride.

    A safety briefing will be conducted before riders proceed to the launch tower. Riders are escorted to their selected zipline and, after their ride, return to collect any personal items left at the registration area.

    Important Notes for Riders

    • Storage: Minimal storage is available for small items. It’s recommended to leave valuables with a non-participating friend or family member, as the festival is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
    • Rider Limits: One ride per registration; riders can rejoin the queue for additional rides.

    Grey Cup Festival 2024 Drone Show

    Date & Time: November 13, 2024, 8:15 pm to 8:45 pm (show starts at 8:30 pm)
    Location: Waterfront between Vancouver Convention Centre West (1055 Canada Place Way) and the Westin Bayshore Hotel (1601 Bayshore Drive), Vancouver, BC

    Event Overview:
    The 2024 Grey Cup Festival Drone Show will illuminate the night sky with 1,000 synchronized drones in a spectacular free show presented by Destination Vancouver. This mesmerizing display will take place over Vancouver’s waterfront, with drones creating intricate 3D visuals for fans to enjoy. The show lasts about 12 minutes, and in case of inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for Friday, November 15.

    Best Viewing Areas:
    The prime spots for viewing are along the waterfront and Seawall between Vancouver Convention Centre West and the Westin Bayshore Hotel. Arrive early to secure your place as viewing areas may reach capacity.

    Nearby Events:
    The Vancouver Christmas Market and the Grey Cup Save-On Foods Street Festival are open nearby. Visit these attractions earlier in the day to avoid crowd congestion.

    Travel Tips:
    Public transit or rideshares are recommended due to limited parking and street closures. The best drop-off locations are Pender Street between Howe and Cardero. Accessible entrances are available at the Convention Centre and Harbour Green Park.
