Now in its 8th year, Battle of the Brews returns to Surrey Civic Plaza for an afternoon of craft beer tasting, live music, and food trucks, all in support of local youth programs. Presented by the Surrey Fire Fighters' Charitable Society and 93.7 JR Country, the event lets attendees sample a lineup of local and regional beers, ciders, and wines while helping decide which brews come out on top. Must be 19+ to attend.

Food trucks are available for purchase separately, and a free water refill station is on site — bringing an empty refillable water bottle is encouraged. A 50/50 draw and raffle also run throughout the afternoon, with donations accepted on site by card or cash.
Live Music
This year's afternoon features live music by Annika Catharina, keeping the plaza's stage going throughout the event.

Proceeds from Battle of the Brews go directly toward Surrey Fire Fighters' Charitable Society youth initiatives, including JR's Basics for Babies. Past years' impact is detailed in the Society's 2025 Impact Report.
