Description
Rubber Ducky Race at Burnaby Lake 2026
The 19th annual Rubber Ducky offers a 5K, a 7 Mile, and a Half Marathon on a scenic course around Burnaby Lake. Run or walk the trails through Burnaby Lake Regional Park, a wildlife sanctuary in the middle of the city, with fresh air, exercise, and chances to see birds and animals. The lake was created by a glacier 12,000 years ago, and its shores were home to sawmills in the late 1800s. Try Events races Burnaby Lake twice a year: the Shamrock’n Race in March circles the lake clockwise, and the Rubber Ducky circles it counter-clockwise. Which way is faster for you?

The medal and swag are included while supplies last. After that, registration switches to a yellow bib option with no swag or finisher’s medal.
The Course
The 21.1K and 7 Mile courses circle Burnaby Lake counter-clockwise, and two water stations are placed 5K apart on either side of the lake. Overall placing medals go to the top three female and top three male finishers overall.
Timing and Results
This is a tag-timed event, with a display clock at the finish. Attach the timing tag to your shoelaces with the zaps provided, and wear your race bib on the front of your body so officials have a clear view of it. After you cross the finish line, stay in the chute until your tag is removed. Return your timing tag after the race or you’ll be charged $40. Runners without a tag get no results. The goal is to post results within 24 hours.
