Witchilano Paddle 2025 at Kitsilano Beach
Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver, BC
Event Overview
Put down your broomsticks and pick up a paddle! The 5th Annual Witchilano Paddle invites Vancouver’s SUP (stand-up paddleboard) community to celebrate spooky season on the water. This unique Halloween-themed paddleboard event has become a beloved October tradition, drawing witches and warlocks in costume for a fun, spirited glide across the waters of False Creek.
What to Expect
Participants will gather at Kitsilano Beach in front of the main washroom building before setting off around 11:30 AM. The paddle route will head toward Granville Island, where the group will cackle, cast spells, and spread spooky cheer before returning back to Kits Beach. One-way participation is also welcome.
This is not just about fun—it’s also about giving back. Organizers are collecting donations for SHARE Family and Community Services, including nutritious canned goods, whole-grain rice, legumes, and baby formula. Cash donations are also encouraged and will go toward much-needed items.
Dress Code
Costumes are highly encouraged! Please dress as a witch or warlock, preferably in black, to create the best spooky vibes on the water. Thrift stores are great places to find sustainable costume pieces.
