Witchilano Paddle 2024 - Glide Into Spooky Season on the Water!

Put down your broomsticks and pick up your paddles! Vancouver’s FOURTH Annual SUP Witches Paddle is back, inviting you to join the fun on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 at Kitsilano Beach. This spooktacular event is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween while gliding through Vancouver’s scenic waters, dressed as witches and warlocks.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, October 5th, 2024
• Meeting Point: Kitsilano Beach, located on Cornwall Ave at the north end of Yew Street
• Time:
  • Meet at 11:00 AM
  • Hit the water around 11:30 AM
• Route: Paddle from Kitsilano Beach to Granville Island and back. You’re also welcome to paddle one way.

What to Bring:

• Costume: Dress up in your spookiest witch or warlock costume, with a focus on black attire for the best Halloween vibes. Check out local thrift stores for affordable costume options!
• Paddle Gear: Make sure you’re an experienced paddler, bring your own PFD (personal flotation device) and leash, and feel confident on the board. This event is for paddlers who are comfortable on the water—beginners are encouraged to practice beforehand.
• Donations: Help support SHARE Family and Community Services by bringing canned goods, whole grain rice, legumes, baby formula, or cash donations. It’s a great way to spread some light during the spooky season!

Parking & Rentals:

• Parking: Paid parking is available at the beach off Arbutus Street. To avoid crowds, arrive early, carpool, or get dropped off.
• Board Rentals: Need to rent a board? Vancouver Water Adventures will be opening their Kits location for rentals. Lifejackets are mandatory and will be provided. Rentals are limited, so book early!

• Safety: This is a paddle-at-your-own-risk event, with no official instruction or supervision. Please ensure you're comfortable on a board and bring all necessary gear. No one will be left behind, but it's essential to be confident on the water.
