Sainam: Angus An's Isaan Thai Eatery in the West End
Sainam is chef Angus An's love letter to Isaan, the northeastern region of Thailand. It opened on Davie Street in June 2025 with a papaya salad bar and seven varieties of som tum, and it was a 2026 Vancouver Magazine finalist for Best Thai.
Here's what to order at Sainam.
About Sainam
An, who also runs Maenam, developed the menu with head chef Poom Sikarin Sirisupanon, a native of Khon Kaen in Isaan and longtime sous chef at Maenam.
The bright, colourful 40-seat room sits in the former Davie Dosa Company space, and before that the longtime home of Café Luxy.
