Diner en Blanc returns to Vancouver for another evening of elegant, all-white outdoor dining at a secret location revealed only in the final moments before the event. Thousands of guests dressed head-to-toe in white gather at designated departure points across the city before being led together to the mystery venue for a night of live music, art installations, and posh, spontaneous celebration.
How It Works
Departure Points & Registration
Guests meet at assigned departure points around the city, where volunteer Table Leaders guide everyone together to the secret location. Selecting the same Table Leader as friends at registration ensures you're seated at the same table.
Registration Phases
Tickets are released in three waves:
- Phase 1 — Returning members from the previous year
- Phase 2 — New members referred by Phase 1 attendees
- Phase 3 — Everyone on the Fan List
All ticket phases are currently open.
What to Bring
Guests are expected to bring their own white folding table and chairs, a white tablecloth, proper white dinnerware, and a gourmet picnic meal — table and chair rentals, along with pre-ordered meals from local chefs and caterers, are available through the event's e-store for those who'd rather not carry their own.
The Evening, Moment by Moment
Le Rendez-Vous
Guests meet up around the city with their tables and picnic baskets, not yet knowing the final destination.
Arrival
In about 20 minutes of organized excitement, thousands of guests set up their tables and place settings at the secret location.
The Napkin Wave
Guests wave their white napkins in unison to signal that dinner is about to begin.
Le Dîner
The meal itself, enjoyed seated with friends new and old until dinner concludes.
End of Dinner & Dancing
Guests signal the end of dinner, then move into an evening of live entertainment, mingling, and dancing.
Au Revoir
Guests depart with all their belongings and trash, leaving the location as pristine as they found it.
Dress Code & Rules
- Attire: All white from head to toe — crisp linen, lace, and bold accessories are encouraged, with gold, silver, or nude accents allowed as long as the look stays mostly white.
- Alcohol: Guests cannot bring their own alcohol in line with Vancouver's regulations. Wine or Champagne can be pre-ordered online, with day-of sales available while supplies last. Non-alcoholic beverages can be brought from home.
- Clean-up: All belongings, leftovers, and trash must leave with guests at the end of the night.
Past Vancouver locations have included Jack Poole Plaza, Devonian Harbour Park, and VanDusen Botanical Gardens, among others.
