Granville Island Turkey Trot 2026
The Granville Island Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Monday tradition: a scenic 10K race around Vancouver's False Creek Seawall that starts and finishes on Granville Island. The course crosses the Burrard Bridge (closed to traffic for the race), loops out to Science World, and returns along the Seawall to a lively finish. A Kids Run follows the 10K, and costumes are encouraged, with a prize for best costume. The race sells out every year, and this year is at capacity again with no waitlist.

Race Day
Start Waves
The 10K starts in five colour-coded corrals: Black at 8:30 AM, Grey at 8:32, Blue at 8:36, Yellow at 8:40, and Pink at 8:43. Each corral is invited into the start area shortly before its wave. The Kids Run starts at about 8:50 AM, after the 10K clears, on a timed loop around Granville Island.
Pacers
Pacers lead the 10K goal times of 45, 50, 55, 60 minutes, and 1 hr 5 min and 1 hr 10 min. Runners who can't finish within the two-hour course limit will be asked to leave the course.
Gear Check
Available to 10K runners in front of Performance Works. Put your items in one bag (a clear bag is ideal), tear off the tag at the bottom of your bib and attach it to the bag, and bring your bib back to collect it after the race. RUNVAN isn't responsible for lost or damaged items.
Awards
Podium awards for 1st to 3rd overall (male, female, non-binary) are presented inside Performance Works, starting right after the Kids Run and at 10:00 AM for the 10K. Age category medals are given for top three finishers, and first place in each age category earns free entry the following year. Placings are by chip time.
Package Pickup
Race day pickup is not available. Pick up your package at Rackets & Runners, 3880 Oak St, Vancouver, race week only:
- Friday and Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Bring photo ID and your Package Pickup QR code. To collect for someone else, bring their full name, QR code, confirmation number, and a copy of their ID. For groups larger than five, email info@runvan.org with all the names in advance. Bibs are non-transferable.
Getting There
Public transit is encouraged. Vehicle access to Granville Island is closed from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM on race morning, so arrive early. Free parking is available on Granville Island until 1:00 PM, with restrictions along Cartwright St, Old Bridge St, Duranleau St, and Anderson St. Bike valet is off Johnston St near the Yellow Crane until noon. Portable toilets are near Performance Works, with limited washrooms inside.

Refunds & Cancellations
Refunds are not provided under the race's registration policy. If organizers are forced to cancel the event, it falls under the RUNVAN Deferral Policy.
