Summer Movie Nights Vancouver 2026
Event Overview
Enjoy free outdoor movies in the heart of downtown Vancouver at Summer Movie Nights 2026, presented by Downtown Van with support from Amazon. Returning for five Thursday evenings, this popular summer tradition transforms šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza) into an open-air cinema featuring blockbuster films, live entertainment, themed activities, music, games, and family-friendly fun.
Each evening begins with interactive performances and activities inspired by the featured movie before the film is shown on a giant 33-foot inflatable screen at sunset.

July 16 – She's The Man
Celebrate soccer with professional jugglers, stilt walkers, interactive performances, and football-themed entertainment inspired by the movie and Vancouver's exciting summer of international soccer.
July 23 – The Hunger Games
Step into the world of Panem with immersive entertainment, including a Hunger Games-inspired drag performance by Sleepy Queer Productions.
July 30 – Wicked: For Good
Celebrate Pride with colourful performances and entertainment presented in partnership with Pop Queen Cardio.
August 6 – 13 Going On 30
Travel back to the late '90s and early 2000s with a nostalgic birthday-themed celebration, throwback music, and themed performances.
August 13 – Ready Player One
Conclude the series with an interactive adventure featuring Vancouver Mysteries, where guests solve clues and search for hidden keys before the movie begins.
