Vancouver Open 2026 at Kitsilano Beach

The Vancouver Open 2026 returns to the sandy shores of Kitsilano Beach from July 10 to 12, 2026, bringing three days of elite beach volleyball, exciting competition, and a vibrant summer atmosphere to Vancouver's waterfront.

Now celebrating its 33rd edition, the Vancouver Open is recognized as Western Canada's premier beach volleyball tournament and serves as the flagship event of the Volleyball BC Beach Tour. Every summer, the tournament attracts top men's and women's teams from across Canada and around the world to compete in one of the country's most prestigious beach volleyball events.

Set against the spectacular backdrop of English Bay, the tournament offers much more than competitive sport. Spectators can enjoy exciting Centre Court action, food vendors, family-friendly activities, youth competitions, and a lively beach environment that makes this one of Vancouver's signature summer sporting events.

Tournament Format

The Vancouver Open features separate men's and women's divisions, each welcoming up to 32 teams.

Teams qualify through Volleyball BC rankings, previous tournament results, international rankings, wildcards, and qualifying events. If registrations exceed the available spots, qualifying matches are held on Friday, with successful teams advancing to the main draw.

The championship uses a modified pool-play format followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket, leading to the championship finals on Sunday.
