Welcome to Burnaby Fair brings a free community celebration to Burnaby Village Museum, designed to connect newcomers, immigrants, long-time residents, and families with local resources, culture, and each other. Part of Welcoming Week, the annual event has run since 2012 to highlight communities striving to be more welcoming and inclusive for everyone. The event takes place rain or shine, with no registration needed.
What to Expect
40+ Community Resource Booths
Booths cover settlement, employment, learning and language, families and parenting, health and wellness, culture, interfaith, government, food security, and more.
Live Cultural Performances
Cultural performances run throughout the afternoon.
Learning Workshops
Hands-on workshops offer opportunities to learn something new.
Arts and Crafts Activities for Children
Kid-friendly craft activities keep younger visitors engaged.
Museum Exhibits and Demonstrations
Access to Burnaby Village Museum's exhibits and live demonstrations throughout the day.
About Welcoming Week
Welcoming Week is an annual celebration highlighting communities working to become more welcoming and inclusive places for everyone, including immigrants. Through local events, organizations and communities bring together neighbours of all backgrounds to celebrate diversity, build connections, and foster a greater sense of belonging.
