At the start, I never paid much attention to coffee even though I’d known about it for a very long time. This all changed around 30 years ago when it got rid of my migraines. Ever since then, I’ve dedicated thousands of hours to studying everything I can about the sweet and aromatic world of coffee. I was obsessed! I needed to share my passion towards coffee, and all of its health benefits, with everyone around me. That’s why I opened my first coffee shop in Canada in 2004 – La Cuisson Café.
One of our biggest challenges early on was sourcing high-quality coffee. I searched all over BC for the freshest and highest quality coffee beans, but there was no local supplier that met my strict standards. After travelling to many coffee plantations and speaking with the most hardworking coffee farmers, I learned that the only way to achieve the quality of coffee I was looking for was to import our green beans from around the world and roast them myself! After 20+ years of roasting coffee beans, I can proudly say La Cuisson serves among the best coffee in Canada.
