Miku: The Waterfront Home of Aburi Sushi in Vancouver
Miku introduced aburi, or flame-seared, sushi to Vancouver in 2008 and remains the city's best-known place to try it. Its waterfront dining room next to Canada Place is Michelin Recommended and one of downtown's most popular restaurants for visitors and locals alike.
Here's what to order at Miku.
About Miku
Miku was founded by Seigo Nakamura, who brought the aburi style from Japan. It originally opened on West Hastings Street in Coal Harbour before moving to its current waterfront home.
The room features a U-shaped bar, a full-service sushi bar, a wrap-around patio, a private dining room and murals by Japanese artist Hideki Kimura.
