Richmond Farm Fest returns to Garden City Lands for a free, family-friendly celebration of the city's food, farming, and community. The day brings together local flavours, culinary demonstrations, live music, guided garden tours, and hands-on agricultural displays from KPU Farm, offering a look at Richmond's agricultural heritage alongside its food future.
Community Stage Lineup
- 11:05 AM — Rachel Chiu, Richmond-based singer and pianist known for appearances on Canada's Got Talent 2024 and American Idol Season 20
- 12:00 PM — Welcome and Remarks for the 2026 Richmond Farm Festival
- 12:45 PM — Zach Saunders Trio, a Vancouver-based soul and blues-rock power trio
- 2:00 PM — The Heels, a country trio blending country, pop, and spiritual sounds
- 3:00 PM — Jackson Hollow, a Canadian bluegrass band ahead of their upcoming album Deep Blue Sky (2026)
Culinary Demos with Chef Jonathan Lee
Running three times throughout the day (12:45 PM, 1:45 PM, and 2:45 PM), Executive Chef Jonathan Lee of Black and Blue Steakhouse leads live cooking demonstrations. Lee's background includes time as Sous Chef at Blue Water Café and Chef de Cuisine at Good Thief, a 2025 Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient.
Urban Bounty Community Garden Tours
Running throughout the day (11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM), guided walks through the Garden City Lands Community Garden showcase sustainable growing techniques, a three-bin compost system, and Urban Bounty's broader work across the 17 community gardens it manages in Richmond, including soil stewardship, garden wellness programs, and fruit recovery initiatives.
Bog Tour with Dr. Mike Bomford, KPU
At 1:45 PM, Dr. Mike Bomford leads a guided tour of the Garden City Lands Bog, exploring its plant diversity and ongoing rehabilitation work. A viewing area is open throughout the day for anyone unable to join the guided tour.
Pop-Up Performers
The Bubble Fairy
Giant soap bubble performances, from tiny "zillions" to enormous bubbles, designed to delight audiences of all ages without a single word spoken.
Stiltwalkers: The Cowboy & The Scarecrow
Larger-than-life roving characters throughout the festival grounds.
Deer Palace Studio
A blend of live theatre and animated character performance, rooted in the symbolism of the deer.
