Vancouver's Ukrainian community marks the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence Day with a full afternoon of celebration at Sunset Beach, followed by a large-scale flag rally on the Burrard Bridge. The event is open to the entire community, including organizations and vendors, with organizers welcoming everyone to join in celebrating heritage, freedom, and the future together.
Sunset Beach Gathering (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Live Performances & Music
Live performances run throughout the afternoon at Sunset Beach.
Ukrainian Food & Culture
Traditional Ukrainian food and treats are available alongside displays of Ukrainian culture.
Kids' Activities
Activities for kids run throughout the gathering, making the event family-friendly.
Vendors & Community Networking
Local organizations and vendors take part, with the event doubling as a chance for community networking.
Burrard Bridge Rally (6:00 PM)
Following the beach gathering, participants move to the Burrard Bridge to take part in unfurling a massive 550-metre Ukrainian flag ribbon. Attendees are encouraged to bring flags and wear national colours or traditional attire for the rally.
