Caffè La Tana: Italian Alimentari and Pasta House on Commercial Drive
Caffè La Tana is an Italian café, grocer and pasta house at 635 Commercial Drive, in the heart of Vancouver's Little Italy. Its name means "the den," a nod to the fox of sister restaurant Savio Volpe.
La Tana won Gold for Best Italian at the 2022 Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. Here's what to know.
About Caffè La Tana
La Tana is modelled on the old-world Italian alimentari found in every neighbourhood in Italy. It combines a small dining area, an open fresh-pasta station, and a shop of imported and local cheeses, meats and pantry goods.
It is part of the Banda Volpi group and sits next door to Pepino's Spaghetti House. The all-day menu focuses on house-made pasta, seasonal small plates and Italian wines and amari.
