02 The story
A quiet West Side neighbourhood along the Arbutus Greenway
Arbutus Ridge sits between Kitsilano and Kerrisdale on Vancouver’s West Side, roughly between 16th and 41st Avenues west of Arbutus Street. It is a calm, established residential neighbourhood of tree-lined streets, single-family homes and low-rise apartments.
The Arbutus Greenway
The neighbourhood’s defining feature is the Arbutus Greenway, a car-free path built along a former railway corridor. It runs north to Kitsilano and False Creek and south towards Kerrisdale and Marpole, and is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists, with community gardens along the way.
Shops and services
Daily needs are met by small shopping areas along Arbutus Street and West 16th Avenue, with cafés, grocers and services. For more choice, Kitsilano’s West 4th Avenue and Kerrisdale’s West 41st Avenue are a short drive or bike ride away.
Parks and schools
Quilchena Park and nearby green spaces offer sports fields and playgrounds, and the area has several well-regarded public and private schools, making it popular with families.
Who it suits
Arbutus Ridge suits people who want a peaceful residential base with easy access to beaches, the Greenway and the shops of neighbouring Kits and Kerrisdale.
