Chancho Tortilleria: Carnitas and Fresh Tortillas on Commercial Drive
Chancho Tortilleria is a Mexican tortilleria at 2096 Commercial Drive. It opened in Yaletown in 2017, moved to 560 Davie Street, and reopened on Commercial Drive in April 2023 in the former Café Deux Soleils space.
Chancho is known for Michoacán-style carnitas and tortillas made fresh from nixtamalized corn. It won Gold for Best Casual at the Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards in 2023 and 2024, and an honourable mention for Best Latin American in 2026.
About Chancho Tortilleria
Carnitas are sold by the quarter, half or full pound. Every order comes with pickled red cabbage, whole pinto beans, salsas, fresh tortillas and limes.
You can also buy tortillas by the dozen and fresh masa to take home.
