Sushi Masuda: A Five-Seat Michelin-Starred Sushi Counter on West Hastings
Sushi Masuda is one of Vancouver's most exclusive sushi experiences: a tiny counter tucked inside another business on West Hastings Street. Chef-owner Yoji Masuda opened it in March 2024, and within months he had earned a Michelin star and the MICHELIN Young Chef Award.
Here's what to know before you go.
About Sushi Masuda
Masuda was born and raised in Vancouver. Family trips to Japan inspired him to become a sushi chef. He began his career in Vancouver, then worked in Sapporo before apprenticing under a sushi master in Tokyo's Ginza district.
He returned home with his Sapporo-born wife, Akari Masuda, and the couple opened the restaurant inside an existing space at 1066 West Hastings.
The Menu
